QuickTime Windows Media YouTubeThe Michigan SOW team partnered with Doc to Dock, a nongovernmental organization committed to collecting unused sanitary medical supplies from the US and shipping them to hospitals in Africa. Traveling to New York City and Cotonou, Benin, Michigan SOW documented Doc to Dock’s process from collection in the U.S. to the delivery of supplies to Benin’s national hospital. While in Benin, SOW worked in cooperation with the hospital in order to capture on camera the state of public health care in the country and to highlight the need for the type of medical supplies Doc to Dock provides. In addition to the work shown at the CGI summit, the UofM team is planning a number of on-campus exhibits and preparing for their larger multimedia gallery to be held in the Spring of 2008.
