The Chinese government estimates that one million Chinese are infected with HIV/AIDS, but the reality lies somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million; UNAIDS estimates that there will be up to 15 million HIV cases by 2010. The Chinese Family Planning Association was originally created to institute the Chinese family planning policy; it is now a vast network of 80 million members, and is addressing issues of HIV/AIDS in urban and rural China.
