Apply Now to be a Media Ambassador at SXSW

We are excited to announce the launch of the SOW Media Ambassador program at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2014! Two qualified individuals from our university network will be selected to represent Students of the World at SXSW in Austin, Texas, reporting on stories of individuals and companies who are using film, music and technology for social good.

What is a Media Ambassador?

SOW Media Ambassadors will work together to use social media and live reporting techniques to take an inside look at the organizations, companies and individuals paving the way for media as a vehicle for social good.

Ideal candidates are mediamakers and millennial thought leaders who have a talent for documenting live events, and a knack for leveraging an on the ground journalistic approach to engage the widest possible audience, and bring the experience to life in the digital sphere. Students of the World staff will provide SOW Media Ambassadors with access to key speakers and exclusive events throughout the festival.

Our Media Ambassadors are an extension of the SOW mission - it is critical that these individuals maintain a professional presence, and embody the values of SOW through both their daily interactions and the content they create. SOW Media Ambassadors will be selected through a competitive online application process. Applicants should be prepared to cover their own travel and room and board expenses for the duration of the event (March 7-11).

Applications are now closed.
